You made the right decision. Not the easy decision, the right one.

I'm sorry for your loss.

RIP Lucky , you were loved , and run free at the bridge :dogRun:

It is so tough, I am so sorry. Just know that many others on this board have had to make the same decision in the past. So we understand and we're here for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

The right decision is not an easy choice to make. But take some comfort in that he was loved and had a wonderful home while he was here. Many dogs never have that. Now he is free of pain and will live on in your heart...

Oh Jess, I'm SO sorry. I cried when I saw this. You and I met in the first place because I had to make the same decision with my beloved Rottie Mukai. You helped bring Zoey to us, and helped us to heal a little. For that I'm so thankful.

If we can do anything for you - please call.

Big hugs to you from all of us, Jenn & family.

My father framed a pic of my 19yr old Carin Terrier, Pepper, & this poem when I made the decision to put her down 2 yrs ago (I had had her since I was 6 yrs old). Anyways, it's beautiful & I wanted to share it with you. May you find solace in the words & in the memories that will remain with you forever. My thoughts are with you.

IF IT SHOULD BE

If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand.
Don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day, more than all the rest,
Your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years.
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
The time has come -- please let me go.

Take me where my need they'll tend,
And please stay with me till the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve -- it must be you
Who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years;
Don't let your heart hold back its tears.
