PETA in NJ against pit bulls

Pits in the news and info on Breed Specific Legislation.

PeTA must be opposed on these issues and NJers who love Pit Bulls MUST work to defeat S801.

As you may know, the pit bull is the most abused breed of dog on the planet. A vital piece of legislation that would help ensure that these animals stay out of the hands of those who would neglect, abuse, and fight them—Senate Bill 801—was introduced in the New Jersey Senate on January 10. Today, please urge your legislators to do the right thing and support an amended version of this bill.
If it becomes law, S801 would allow municipalities to pass legislation requiring those who own or harbor pit bulls to obtain an annual license to do so. Municipalities would be allowed to bar people under age 18 and those convicted of certain crimes, including cruelty to animals, from securing such a license.
The bill would unfortunately mandate that a pit bull seized by any municipality under such ordinances be housed in a “no-kill” shelter until the animal is adopted or dies of natural causes.
Please politely urge your legislators to work to amend and support S801 so that seized pit bulls would be taken to open-admission shelters—where they can be promptly re-homed, if they truly are adoptable, or humanely euthanized—instead of tossed in a crate where they will remain for years. You can find your legislators’ names and contact information here.
Please forward this message to others in your state who might be willing to lend their voices to this important issue. New Jersey’s pit bulls are counting on you.
Thank you for your compassion for animals and for your willingness to act.
Yours sincerely,

I truly despise these people.

I'll forward it on.

They are very artful at sounding like they are doing the right thing for the animals. :rolleyes2:

I hate PETA with a passion. I hope they come to CT soon so I can protest them and their support of terrorist organizations and how they hate pit bulls...Dale and I will throw tar on them or something. (forget the paint)

God created idiots as an endless source of amusement for the rest of us!
