Actually it's been interesting, we have two deafies now and both have the same "quality" of bark, that is, a regular dog goes "WOOF" with definition on the end, or "f" sound in the "woof". The two deafies don't have the "f" on the end so both are just kind of opening their mouths and making noise, almost like "Woa" or "Wow". It's hard to describe but I'm assuming both do it because they can't hear themselves.
But as for noise - neither of them let make LESS noise than other dogs and in fact Lambie can really set up a ruckus which she's really started doing again, when she is crated and doesn't want to be. Her voice is loud and has no rhyme or rhythm to it, it's just noise coming out!
