Sweet Pea (Mom dog) video

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

This is Sweet Pea, and how she walks right now - she has a surgery scheduled for THURSDAY to get her leg amputated so it isn't sticking out like a piece of wood straight down from her body - she'll be spayed at that time as well!

Poor baby. :(
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

btw that white blur in video 2 was Lambie, and the snarky in the back ground was her and Yaeger playing (or, her harassing Uncle Yaeger more likely!)

Thanks ladies--- I'm on pins and needles and wish I could be there with her during the surgery. I'm so worried! She's had 1/2 can salmon (ams) and a can of sardines along with her dog food, every day since she came here, so hope she's got some decent nutrition to sustain her...poor baby. It's so weird to think of this being her last day with that leg!
I can't wait to see how it will improve her mobility to have that leg gone. She avoids our stairs (outside) right now since the leg gets hung up on the stairs!
I'll update you guys as soon as I can after her surgery...

I just called, they just got done with the surgery! It's only quarter after 3pm here!
The receptionist spoke with the vet and because of her blood loss they didn't spay, I guess there's more blood supply to her mammary area too so they didn't want to try.
But they said she's doing good! And I can pick her up in the AM after 9am...
I won't relax until I see her though. :(

She will probably sleep through the night, withall the anesthesia and drugs.

When you pick her up, be brave. :sad2: I know how yucky Darlene's cruciate surgery looked.

Thank you for saving her. I am confident you will find her a loving home. :bananaDance:

Thanks...I remember picking up Hershey and almost bursting out in tears over his groin surgery with tubes and huge Frankenstein stitches, it scared me to death!
:( I've been mentally preparing since I heard she needed this surgery!

At least it sounds as though the vets are going by "better safe than sorry." So at least you can try to sleep easy knowing that she's in good hands. Keep us updated tomorrow! Give her some lovin's from Inara and I!

I think so...I trust them alot, it is three female vets. They've all done very well with our fosters and also they have tattooed the dogs' spay scar so if anyone ever tries again, they'll shave it and find the green tattoo :)
