Damnit. What is up with the idiocy of this world.
I'm beyond pissed right now.
I took Weda out for our nightly bike ride. If ya'll remember about 3 or 4 months back I spoke about a Chow that someone in the neighborhood always leaves unleashed. The dog stopped short of coming after weda.
So anyways. I'm going down the street. I see the Chow outside with the Dad of the family this time. There is also a Collie (lassie) type dog with them.
I put Weda into a sit/stay and she does. The dogs see us and come running. NO F'IN LEASHES!!! So the guy starts saying in a very laid back tone. "Hey. Stop. Come here."
They both get up to Weda and the collie is taking a defensive stance. Weda and the dog get tangled because the dog is trying to push Weda out of the way.
Then the dog turns and tries to bite Weda. I am still on the bike as I was concerned that if I went to get off, I might lose control of Weda if something happened, even though I had her on a leash and everything.
So this dog tries to bite. Weda jumps back and I the dog just barely missed her. Was growling and trying for her over and over. So Weda jumps up on the dogs back, and grabs it's neck and won't let the dog move. The chow is staying out of it, but still in the way.
I tell Weda to 'OUT', even though she was in the right, IMO. She does, and then the guy starts trying to get his dogs away, but is still letting the collie come after Weda. So the dog runs around the other side of the bike, and tries to come up from behind. I seen him coming, so I cocked back and kicked him in the jaw and he got knocked back. The owner then says, "Hey, what the...". I cut him off and told him "Shut the smurf up and get your dog." He finally gets the dog away. I put Weda into a sit/stay again and start checking her. Not a scratch luckily.
Then the guy is over in front of his house with his belt trying to hit the Collie and get it into the back yard. Mind you, the dog didn't just get out on accident, he had the dogs out front with him.
So we start going again, and the guy keeps saying "Is she ok?" "Sorry man.", etc. etc. et al.
That's it. I'm filing a complaint this time. This stupid SOB is going to put in jeopardy not only my dog's health, but also her future. I can't have an overly dog aggro dog for SAR, and if crap like this keeps happening it's going to end up that way. Weda is already not very good with her manners because she's cautious of dogs trying to bite her, but it's not at the aggro stage, and I'd like to keep it that way.
Sorry. Had to rant. Animal Control isn't open til the AM, and I needed to vent before bed.
