Will these work for a spring pole?

I finally tore down my garage, and got the garage door springs, they weigh a good bit, and I'm sure they can handle a good bit of weight.

They're about 2-3 feet long, are these too big? Will they work or will I have to find something smaller?

Mine was made with a garage door spring and it worked just fine. :)
