Today was very different....

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

Postby Maryellen » February 4th, 2006, 6:46 pm

every saturday rufus and i go to the hospital to do therapy.. we go to the mental health ward and rehab.. every week rufus says hello to all the patients, and picks someone to curl up in their lap for loving... well, today, not only did rufus curl up in this young guys lap and fall asleep sprawled out, but the guy who's lap rufus was on fell asleep petting him as well.. it was a perfect picture.. but in mental health we are not allowed to take pics:( the woman who brings us in there said the two of them sleeping was the perfect picture for therapy work.. as she said.. gee, who is getting the therapy, the boy or the dog or both??

we also had a woman from england who was petrified of pit bulls there, and she actually went over and pet rufus and let him kiss her whole face... it was a Huge step for her... i was so proud of rufus today..

Great!!! It's cool how some people will warm up - though I've had a few go back to her being a 'bad' dog. :rolleyes2:

What a good boy, Rufus! Maryellen, you and Rufus make a great team. It's so nice that you both can show pit bulls in such a positive light.

Too bad you could not take a photo but you will always have that picture of Rufus and the boy in your heart and mind.
