Introducing Drusilla

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Hi Everyone,

This is the newest member of my clan: 9 month old, Dutch Shepherd. I named her Drusilla, but call her Dru for short. She's fitting in nicely here, although she's a little nervous: she had been kept in a kennel/hutch for most of her young life....I had trouble getting her in the house (she had no idea what a house was...I had to pick her up and carry her in); new experiences make her nervous, but we do everything slowly and gently...

However, she is the SWEETEST thing. Even when she was scared and I had to pick her up to bring her in my house, she NEVER turned her head on me. Talk about stability!!!! She's definitely a love bug (it's hard getting pictures when you have her attached to you trying to be loved on).

I think we're going to try to do Schutzhund with her (we're starting with a clean slate as she has NO training)....

AND YES, SHE CAN PICK UP SIGNALS FROM MARS WITH THOSE EARS!!!!!

Thank you so much!!! :D I think her coloring is great....

She had been eating Iams before I got her (I've only had her a week). I switched her over to Solid Gold WolfCub for breakfast, and giving her raw for dinner...and I brushed her out really well (she had a TON of dead fur on her). She's in desperate need of a bath, but b/c she's never been exposed to a hose before, I need to take my time (it's amazing to see how a dog can be so afraid of things I'd otherwise take for granted b/c my other dogs - raised from puppies - don't mind them)

Hey, if you ever get tired of her, I'll take her off your hands.

Is she an import? If not, would you PM me her breeder?

Keep in mind, she is technically a mutt (pretty much all Dutchies are - in her case: mom = 1/2 GSD, 1/2 Dutchie; dad = 100% malinois).

Also, you've got mail.

I'm not sure....I got the name from the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer (yes, a guilty pleasure). Drusilla was one of the vampires...she was kinda dumb (sing-songy, etc), but really pretty....I liked the character a lot, so I decided to name the dog after her....In the show, Drusilla was also called Dru
