He graduated!!

Bronx finally graduated his first obedience class!
I am so excited about it! I framed his certificate too

He also was the only one to get a special award in the class.
He got most improved, the trainer said he was very proud of us because he knows that I worked hard to get him to the point he is at.

I'm going to keep up with the classes and working with him everyday!
This is great compared to the first week I brought him home. no more biting or nipping either!! Its great!!
onto the next set of classes!!

Yes it is so wonderful. SO happy for ya!!!!! I remember that feeling. My shelter pup was a bit nippy too!! I too did as many classes as I could even tried different styles. however I skipped CGC since Rocky was not a year old yet . A bit disapointed that I had not done it but probably will do it the next round. Although if he does not stop jumping on people it will never happen. Just as I think we are good with that he starts all over again. I knew Bronx was just being a testy little shelter brat.

thanks everyone, I have that little jumping problem too. He just gets so excited when someone comes over. I can't get him to stop.
after a few he will calm down though.
alot of kids want to pet him on the street, but he is too jumpy and I don't want them to get knocked down.

Well it got better with kids. But thats cause I took him to bus stop everyday and had to work up to settling down from a distance and keeping his feet on the ground just with the sight of the bus. I had to bring meatballs with me as a treat. (frozen meatballs make great treats.) WEhen we got up to the kids petting, I tell them they have to wait untill he sits to pet. He has done so much better.

good idea, I think i need to start taking treats with me on our walks.
yesterday, a little boy wanted to pet him and he was excellent, besides he wanted to jump on him. but he just licked the kids face off and the kid was hugging him and kissing him and Bronx loved him.
bronx jumped up once and put his paws on his shoulders, i said, aww he's giving you a hug, then I got bronx down to sit.
He was great with the little boy besides the jumping.
I was proud of him. just gotta work on the being over excited thing.
the kid said can he come back to play with me again.

Oh yeah I def recommend bringing treats. I never go for a walk without treats. I dont bring real good treats just small bits like cat treats are the best. I keep them in my purse. I give them for sitting for petting. Walking past agressive crazy dogs behind fences without a problem. Leaving squirls and Cats etc etc. I dont always give the treats this way he is always thinking I may get one. He now will look at me after passing a barking crazy dog like "hey I was good right where is that treat."

He is starting his advanced class on Wednesday! I'm excited!!
