I just read this morning that Helen Keller ALSO(?) had an Akita and they even listed his name. And a pit bull? What a progressive lady! I looked up Akitas this AM to see what they look like - I think I like Mike's looks much better than purebred - they're too fluffy. A neighbor has one that looks very much like Mike but smaller. He is pretty aggressive behind his fence and I steer clear when he's loose but he doesn't seem to wander much at all.

Hellen Keller was a key person in establishing Akitas in the US.

I think Mike looks better than the purebreds, too, but I'm obviously biased :) Even his shorter coat STILL sheds like a biznatch . . . it drives me nutty!

I just got in from taking a couple of fall pics but I realized that I had already packed away my chord!! I'll be stopping at my parent's house tonight to drop off more stuff and hopefully I'll find the chord.
