Urgent Need in Texas

We are in Terrell, Texas and found two pit bull puppies (maybe mix, we're not sure) who had been abandoned living in a park - living off a dead bird! We picked them up and have had a hard time getting them to a no-kill shelter or finding homes for them. We have 6 animals of our own and can't keep them. We volunteer at a local shelter and just couldn't leave them. Can someone help? We would be willing to pay for their initial health check and screening. We don't want to call animal control because we know how that story ends.... We were very involved with the Dog Mercy at Operation Kindness in Carrollton and know it might be tough to find them homes. It was suggested that maybe a post on this site would help.
