Brushing teeth

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

How often does everyone do it?
I've been trying to do it at least a couple times a week for her. Since she's young and her teeth are pretty clean I want to keep them that way.
I'm not sure what's generally recommended.

I believe once or twice a week is recommended. I don't brush Inara's teeth 'cause she's on a raw diet - that brushes for them!

I don't do it at all, they get meaty bones & their teeth are very white & clean.

I do once a week...of course they're on raw, so that keeps them clean...it's more to get them used to it in case they weren't being fed raw, anymore...

I do it about once a week. Iattach Rory when she is in the deepest of sleeps and try to get as much dine as I xan before she wakes and realizes what I'm doing. Oh man she gets pissed but I cant do it anyother way, she runs. Calm me cruel but my girl will always have shiny teeth, haha!

Her teeth are clean except for one small bit of brown "plaque" I guess on the top of one of her canines. Can the vet scrape this off?

I was thinking the same as the others that are on Raw said. My dogs teeth look awesome with eating the Raw.

Prior to eating Raw I brushed my older dogs teeth once a week. He hated it.

Oscar will tolerate if I let him lick lots of the toothpaste. It makes it all worth it to him.

You can get your dog's teeth scraped, but it could damage the enamel. Your best bet is brushing and a cleaning before things get hairy (they'll use an ultrasonic scaler to take the plaque off)

I always made teeth brushing part of "be a baby" that we did every night. Even though I knew Nisha would be getting raw, I wanted to get her into the habit of having her teeth done once a week (in the event that someone else had to take care of her and couldn't feed raw)...Even though her teeth are pristine (as are Sacha's), I still brush once a week....just to KEEP her used to it....
