Nice to meet everyone! I just rescued a little pit from our local pound... I do think he is pure but they told me he wasnt (they will tell you anything to get you to adopt, we got another pit 3 years ago that they said was a "lab" Her names Sierra) This new ones name is Roscoe.. We also cant really tell what color he is... I have been told brown blue and something called "tombstone"? He will be 10 weeks this weekend! Here is a few photos... well to many heres the link...

Hi! Beautiful family!! What got you interested in the breed? Are these your first pit bulls?

Welcome!

Love your slideshow - the one of Roscoe upside down in the car is fabulous! Nothing cuter than a puppy sprawled, out to the world.

And yay for you for adopting!!!

I guess what got me into the breed was when i was a a few months old the man that lived across the street had a pit and it was my baby sitter :) it was a bad place to live but it was the perfect sitter! he wouldnt even let my mom come by me unless his owner said it was okay.. :) No when i was yonger my mother n i also went to the pound and i picked for her to adpot a little pit (she still lives with my mother in Cali) My older sister use to also have pits... but yes Roscoe is my 1st one that "mine" I'm thinking of doing weight pulling , and agility with him not to sure how to even start weight pull but if im right i need to wait a year anyways...

What color do you think he is?

Yea i dunno how he was comfy sleeping like that lol
i was in pain for him! He "talks" alot when he is uncomfy tho he will grunt and growl maybe bark a few times till he can "spin" himself comfy

Welcome!

I would venture to say that Roscoe is a colored called "Seal". He looks black in some light, dark brown in others.

Have a look at my dog's coat in this thread, she is seal colored. http://www.pitbulltalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=4156

She also had mange i knew it was so i asked to see what they were doing about it and they told me it was from news paper and grass ... so i said well i guess we will think about it.. the next day she was on medi for mange and we took her home.. Then our vet even told us it was mange.. I guess they will tel you anything they can to get you to adpot a pit mix... Its sad they have to lie but i can see where they are coming from..

Welcome!! Your dogs are very pretty - and yes I'd guess Roscoe is what's known as "seal"...
