I am not sure. My son found him out there where he's been staying with the other little buckling his own age. He wasn't "right" from the time he was born and almost died at birth. He was bottle fed, and we took him to foster. But he seemed ok lately. He weaned off the bottle about a month ago. He always walked "drunken" and wobbly, despite us giving him B-complex injections and selenium. He didn't run like Oreo does, and his testicles never did descend (too much info, I know but it was just another "odd" thing about him)
He had been bleating "funny", not like usual for the past week or so, but I just thought he was growing up and his bleat sounded different? I just trimmed his hooves three days ago, and snuggled with him for quite a while. He nibbled around out here like he always does. Two days ago I trimmed the other buckling, Oreo. Snickers was walking around like usual.
Yesterday I was so busy getting the cats and Jenny settled in I didn't check on the goats but my son came home from school and found him down, so we started working on him. He was limp at that point, but began having a siezure so I went to town to get the drugs I need to put him to sleep. I brought him with me and when I came back to the car from getting the drugs, I petted his head - and he just kind of stretched out and his eyes started to dilate, and he left me right then.
