Noooooooooo

Postby pitbullmamaliz » June 8th, 2006, 8:13 am

So I found out yesterday that my sister and her family are being transferred to Okinawa. OKINAWA. As in Japan. The opposite end of the freakin' world! Her hubby is a Marine. They'll be there for three years, and they probably won't be able to come home to visit 'cause it's so hard to travel with two small kids (almost 2 y/o, less than 1 y/o). I'm so sad. I'll miss my big sissy.

Best of luck to them and I hope they stay safe.

Tell your sister to buy a Kelti and put some air miles on those babies.

I travelled with Autumn from CT to Oregon via car when she was 20 days old and from Oregon back to CT via plane when she was 2 months old. Then from CT to Hawaii when she was 4 months old.

Airline personel are very helpful.

I'm sorry to hear this.

We just got a Logitech Quick Cam so that we can see other members of the family that are far away. Not sure if you have one but maybe it will make you feel better if you can see them. Everyone needs one though (of course).

I wish them all the best with their move.

Web cams and IMs are great ideas.
I'm glad you have such a great relationship with your sister. I'm a bit jealous. I don't even want to be in the same state as my sister. :(

We're planning on getting web cams - is Logitech a good one? And what's an average price for one?

My sis and I have always been close - I was devastated when she moved to NC, so this is really bad!

I'd say anywhere from $15.00 to $30.00. Walmart carries them. I have had good luck with Logitech, and Creative.
I think I took the one on my myspace with a creative one :) Some have mics with them.

But would I get her back???

I actually looked at ticket prices. $1400 round trip, per person. Don't see a visit to Japan anytime soon!!!

My husband lived on Okinawa for years, his dad was in the air force. He absolutely loved it!

We'll see. Depends on how she behaves, LOL.

If it is in any way shape or form feasible for you to go visit them during their station - DO IT! Japan is definately worth seeing. I lived there for a year in high school, and while I wish I would have done it in college instead, was a great experience.

Hugs to you and your family.
