Brag... my little (or not so little) ambassador

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

Postby Malli » May 29th, 2006, 4:28 am

Os and I were chillin' outside the movie store today while my bf picked up a flick.
Just as he came out a middle aged lady got out of her car and walked up and asked "is this what they call a Pit Bull?" We both said yes. Her reply "he doesn't look mean at all" ours "he isn't!" (as soon as she walked up and pointed to him his tail starting wagging, anyone in the immediate vacinity has to be talking to Oscar if they so much as aim their heads in his direction :lol3:) I gave him the "ok, go say hello" and he did. While she patted him, and crooned "look at those big brown eyes"
She then said "I heard about what they're doing in Ontario with the banning and I think its just a shame"
I then replied that I agreed, and that a group of lovers of the breed had come together and hired a lawyer to fight the gov't in court, so hopefully something good would come out of that. That it was really unfortunate, and I hoped that that kind of thing didn't end up here ( in BC )
She then repeated how cute he looked, to wich I replied "yep, he's a looker"

My boy done good. I am so proud. Just had to share.

Yay!!!! Good job to all of you. Isn't that just great when you meet the people who obviously have just as little contact with the breed as the haters, but who keep their minds open to the possibility that *gasp* they may not be a bad dog?

Yay Oscar!!! If only more folks would stop and actually met pit bulls, it would go a long ways towards changing minds.

Good work!

That's awesome. I wish all the people that are ignorant to the true temperment of pitbulls could actully meet one not just see the "bad" ones on TV.

It totally made my day. I kept telling him what a good boy he was for the next little while and he kept giving me a puzzled look because he wasn't doing anything in particular :lol3:
