Some people!

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

Postby rockermom » May 23rd, 2006, 5:43 pm

While at lunch with some friends today a dog conversation came up. One of the girls is a nurse in a hospital in emegency room in the city. She began telling about a woman who came in with a child who needed to be admitted. Well aparently on the admission interview the nurse needs to ask if the patient has pets. The answer was yes I have Pit Bulls. She was then asked How many. Response "I dont know". Nurse-What do you mean you dont know how many? Response-Well we have a bunch in kennells plus a couple had litters. This nurse who mind you has seen some horrible pit bull incidents has her own thoughts about pit bulls. Tells a few stories and of course the woman says "Its all in how they are raised."
As if she friggen knows who is adopting her street sale puppies!

Real nice. Its like, these people that try to defend pitbulls are being hypocrital, and making it even harder for the people that really DO take care of their dogs, and raise them right.

That is just way too bad.

I am curious to Why a nurse would be required to ask if someone has pets. :| Was the child at the ER because it was hurt by a pet?
Pit Bulls know they are THE face of extinction. All that remains is where they make their final stand. Say NO to BSL!

Im not sure the whole story but as I understood it, someone was being admitted and asking if you have pets is just part of the admission. Pediatricians ask that as well. Especially if illness could have alergy related symptoms. Sounded to me that this person just flat out answered I have pitbulls. Guess she does not consider them to be dogs. The nurse did lecture her on do you realize how many pits are in shelters in this area because of people who breed and cant even know how many they have.

Unless it was a dog bite, that nurse seems a little nosy to me. :D

And it is very sad. How could you not know how many dogs you have? I mean, at least a ballpark figure? Geez....

Why they have to ask? it is an area infested with these kind of things, is my guess.

Those are my two biggest pet peeves right there! Spelling pit bull wrong, and then using '4' instead of 'for'. :x
