Weight Pull Brag

Weight pull, Protection, Agility, Flyball... you name it!

Postby Ostara_Kennels » May 25th, 2006, 11:53 am

Ok so this is just a random brag.. I'm proud of my boy and I love an excuse to post pictures ;) We just barely started him out in Weight Pull last November.. got his UWP and now he's got his UWPCH and halfway to his UWPCHX and his UWPV.. He's currently ranked #7 in the UKC Weight Pull All Stars and has won a couple Most Weight Pulled awards.. I still can't believe how fast he's come along in the sport.. Here's a couple pictures of him.. Don't mind the pink harness ;) We did get him a new black one LOL... I still can't believe that in just a few short months he went from pulling 700lbs for a UWP leg to pulling 4020lbs and winning Most Weight Pulled...He's such an awesome boy... I just love my Petey :)

We have a drag sled made up for training.. it's a small wooden sled that weights about 25lbs and has a big screw sticking up in the middle that we can slide barbell weights onto for added weight.. we usually only have them drag between 30 and 50 lbs for about 10 - 20 minutes a day every other day

thats a good idea, i use a tire or lawn mower(he needs to get use to the souond of the tires). I walk with the tire sometimes, and do some pull work outside.

was the 4020lbs on rails?
is all you pull onrails or do you pull wheeled cart or snow pull?
4000lbs is a respectible pull either way
griz tried rails for the first time last wknd at an apa king of the rails pull
we missed weigh in so just tried the track out he kept stepping off to his left and off the track-there was a 5"incline on the track
the dogs pulled 3700lbs
griz wasn't competeing so we just pulled 3000lbs
need a rail setup to train on
the ukc clubs here on the east coast don't have the rail setup yet
its funny how quick we get hooked isn't it?
