Rescues in the Maritimes

Postby Vanessa » May 21st, 2006, 2:50 pm

I was just wondering if there are any pitbull rescues in PEI, Nova Scotia or New Bruinswick. i would like to help out in anyway i can if there are any ones close to me. I am pretty sure that there aren't any in PEI but i don't know about the rest of the maritimes.

I haven't heard of any myself. Have you considered volunteering at a shelter?

Yes i have and i am starting a newspaper drive at my work to give papers to our shelter. We only have one on PEI and i have found that they are very anti pitbull. To the point of lying about whether or not a dog is a pitbull. I know of 2 dogs for sure that were adopted out as "boxer mixes" when they were clearly pit mixes.

Here's something to consider if your area is lacking in pit bull friendly resources. :|
