New kid in the house... James

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

Postby Pitcrew » May 18th, 2006, 9:55 pm

A couple of pics of my new guy... (okay, hes 6 mos old and I am only now getting to it) His name is James (Jame or Jamie for short). Gonna be registered as Romeo's Mirage By Hammer.
Is that how you spell mirage? (you know, like you see in the desert?) I dont know if that is a word so my spell check isnt catching it.

:D sorry that last one is of his butt... boy are they hard to take pics of at this age.
Thats why I didnt post. I wanted to wait until I got a good face shot.

He is gonna be my little pulldoggie (weightpull). He is only dragging an empty sled, but boy does he love to get his harness on.[/img]

Lisa you know that your two dogs from Joe are related to Megan's Kapri, right?

And I'm SO glad you got the female I liked from the litter (Vegas)! She was a little doll.

No, I didnt know that. Is there somewhere she has pics posted? Or could she post some here?
Thanks, BTW... Vega is an awesome kid... and Jame is too... honestly I waited to post pics partly until he got past some of his uglies. REALLY! I never had a pup go through that. Gawky, gangly, yes... ugly no. He looked like a bag if spare parts and skin. Lots of skin! People at work kept joking that he was part basset hound. He's never gonna be show quality (not that I care, thats not why I got him) but he is maturing to be much more handsome than I thought he might a couple of months ago.
And his ears seem to be improving with age too. That didnt help the hound look any. He still has a double chin thing going though LOL hoping as his grows... :|

You know, I've heard a couple people on here mention the "uglies," and I'm just finding those so hard to believe! Anybody have a pic of an "ugly" pittie? I don't believe you!!

He sure is getting big! What a sweet face. His littermate sis in NJ is named Maya. She is a doll too.

Here is what I call the uglies!

This is James at 12 weeks, when I got him.
What you cant see by the pictures (besides his abundance of skin) is that he has HUGE flat feet. He's down in the pasterns, his butt is significantly higher than his shoulders (very short forearms didnt help the basset hound similarity), and he appeared to have the angulation of a GSD!

These are a week later...
Yes I know the year on the pics are wrong, but the rest is right :rolleyes2:

[/img]Image

And these are at 16 weeks... you can really start to see a change.

And this is just the other day, 6 mos.

[/img]Image

And... his feet have improved, his pasterns are improved (still a little pidgeon toed, especially when he is sitting), rear angulation and length of fore legs normal.

Guess you just cant always tell how their conformation will be at certain ages. :| But I like what I am seeing NOW alot better. I was a little worried for a while.

Funny how much his face has changed, his eyes even have a more alert expession. In the old ones he always looks really old... or tired.
