Speaking of NON reputable rescues...

I found SOLAR!!!!

http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/dis ... id=6292382

I have no reason to believe he is in any danger now. He's with the first people Steph dumped him on. They love him but both work extended hours during the day. He's being rehomed through Ginger's rescue. It is not their fault. They stood by Solar when Steph walked away from him, and it was not the original agreement but they've honored their commitment to him!

This poor family was lied to, about multiple items, including, not not limited to, being told that Solar was a Hurricane Katrina dog. He was not. He came from my shelter in Eastern WA.

I know...I'm amazed myself. Let's just say it was a REALLY interesting conversation with the man who has him now, and he came away very enlightened. They never heard from Stephanie again after the first few days Solar was there. She left this family with no support, no ANYTHING. I'm just glad they are good people. Solar could have been dumped at some shelter and nobody would have known. He did mention microchipping him and I told him that's a great idea. One of Kaye's dogs adopted out over a year ago just turned up in a shelter, and Kaye was contacted because of the chip... :o

Solar is a beautiful dog!

For those of us that are new here, can you tell us more about this Steph person? Or point us in the right direction to find out more info? Thanks.

Gosh. It's a huge long story. The short version - she ran a rescue out of the Eugene area and managed to take some 12 Katrina bullies who she subsequently starved almost to death. She dumped some dogs along the way, Solar was one, and Muckie was another - both of them came from my shelter in WA where I was an ACO. Muckie came back to me and he's at Small Time Dog rescue now, in The Dalles. Solar's with a foster family who was doing a "foster to adopt" but Steph left them in the lurch. The K. bullies are doing well last I heard.

So much drama....I cannot believe Solar surfaced. He looks great in that picture. The extent of the damage Steph was responsible for still amazes me.

Oh my god.... :( Did she get in over her head or something??

Well I'm glad everyone seems to be ok now... Are any dogs still 'missing'?

VERY much so & refused to admit it. All of the dogs were eventually returned to Noah's Wish where they are happy, healthy & in foster homes.

it is the least I can do. Those dogs need their story told. And she needs to never lay hands on another rescue dog again. I only hope and pray the last oens she still has are doing well. And that those who's whereabouts are unknown are also ok.
