a few good thoughts, if you have any

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Oscar was just seen for an anal gland impaction/abscess; while we were in, I decided to ask about 3 lumps that I had repeatedly forgotten to mention. We decided to aspirate all 3; 2 gave the doctor cause for alarm, and all 3 have been sent away for Cytology, if I remember correctly, the concern is mast cell tumors or similar type of cancer. Unfortunately, 2 of the sites are on areas where she was concerned with being able to get clear margins - one on his ear, and the other just down from his elbow.
I think she said results would probably be back friday or monday.
anyway, anything you've got for thoughts would be appreciated.

I am trying to be calm and reasonable about this, because it could be nothing.

must have worked!
There was a very slight chance that one is cancerous but that was more in the context of "it could be _____ and it could be ____ and it could be _____ type of localized cancer", so, the statement was more that they don't know what it is and can't rule out cancer and although they don't think it is they are covering their butts. My vet is not concerned so neither am I.
As for the other 2, one is most likely a callus, and the other is a benign Histiocytoma.
now, if I could only get my $100 back for the Cytology :rolleyes2:
Needless to say, I am happy that my sweet old man is ok.
