Picked up a pit bull running loose today...*sigh* She's in my van for the night...it's cool enough, and she has water in her crate. She's a nice girl...American Bully style...fat and squat, but a nice girl.

My feet are effing freezing. My boss said the prison gets really cold in winter, so if I'm this cold now and it's still 60-some degrees outside, I'm screwed. Apparently the heat doesn't always work. So I need to invest in some wool socks or silk sock liners or something. And he also recommended fingerless gloves. It may be a long winter.

you want moisture wicking socks. Try a store that sells workwear, get socks that are designed for cold plus wick moisture away. long underwear may also help.

welcome ;)
fyi, don't be cheap with socks. $15/pair cdn is the average here, so, probably 5-10 US? I dunno, whatever is expensive for socks :lol3:

I buy my woolie socks at Eastern Mountain Sports and REI. I actually have the REI membership so that I get discounts because I buy so much stuff there.

Because of my stupid right foot, I have to be extra super careful to make sure I don't get any frost bite because I can't feel it if I do.

These are my favorite socks, meaning I've bought multiple pairs each year for at least two if not three years or more:

You may be able to claim your socks as on out of pocket uniform expense on your taxes. I claimed Mark's on our taxes because he was required to wear a certain kind of sock to keep his feet from freezing because he is outside all day as an Arborist and his company does not reimburse him for the cost of safety equipment and clothing. Check with your accountant on that.

I :heartbeat: my smartwool socks. Wool makes me itch, but not these!

I also love my Teva and North Face socks...toasty warm, but they fit like athletic socks.

Puzzle's Catch-22

Her horrible structure causes her to have almost zero ability to balance and be graceful...however, the same wonky structure allows her to be flexible and loose enough to recover after a bad spill!

(She fell off a log today and ended up doing a strange-awkward handstand for about 30 seconds before tipping back down to four on the floor)

Had a nice time chatting with some dog-walking clients (the dogs are coming here over T-giving, so I had to see the feeding routine)...it's nice to actually talk to the people, since I usually just see the dogs!
