Ok, my ignorant question of the day -
What makes some birds talk and others never say a word? I had a friend with an African Grey and it never said a word and she had him for years. She kept him where he would be near people, usually in the den, and talked to him ALL the time.

I can help a little, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable can fill you in.

1- Sex. Males are more likely to be talkers than females.
2- It really does just depend on the bird. Some never talk, some never shut up.
