Xander

Postby TheRedQueen » August 2nd, 2011, 5:16 pm

His renal failure caught up to him...sent him into congestive heart failure...and he was feeling lousy, and stopped eating. He was very anemic at the vet this morning...and there wasn't really anything they could do. When he didn't want to play ball this morning I knew he was done...so we let him go this afternoon, after coming home so he could say goodbye to everyone.

I am devastated...and it hasn't even really hit me yet.

I am so sorry, Erin. May the happy memories of all the years you shared soon replace the pain you feel today.

I'm so, so sorry, Erin. I am crying with you tonight. I will always remember Xanderoo. In particular, the time he bit Mike at that flyball tournament in NH, because he was doing just what you had taught him to, hitting the tug with all his might. And how he still wanted to play play when we got home on Saturday night after double-running all day. And most of all how he was the most polite ball-obsessed dog I've ever known. :hug3:

I was away, so I am sorry for the late sympathy note, Erin.

My heart goes out to you. :sad2: Xander was a trooper, and I am sure he knew he was an extra-special dog.
