Was at the hospital yeasterday visiting a friend and there was an older gentlemen that bought in his service dog (APBT). We sat in the lounge with a few grandmothers talking about how sweet APBT are & that they get a bad rap. The gentlemen was telling us that his dog was a medical service dog & that he detects low sugar levels in diabetes patient. All of a sudden 3 security guard came in and told him he was crazy for bring a dog into a hospital. It was clearly known that the dog was a service dog. He even had a pass yet they told him to get off the floor. Well the gentlemen wasn't having that & demanded they get their boss...which they didn't. He then called someone who happened to be an Admin. of the hospital. When this happened, 2 of the 3 security guards started feeding the nurses & Dr's on the floor a BS story to tell just incase their boss ask questions. Sadly the people who he was talking to were APBT owners themselves and told them basically they're on their own. To bad i left to see the outcome but i did give the gentlemen's son my number just in case they needed a witness.
I thought i'd never see a Med. service dog...who had on his service jacket & the hospital pass on at the time get kicked out yet a lady told me that a lady bought in her Lab who was also a service dog & they never said anything to her nor told her to leave.
