My good friend and her boyfriend recently bought a house, and now he is deployed for the next year. They have a one year old lab/shepherd mix named Magnus, and are adopting a sister for him. They had a home check/meet and greet yesterday with this adorable little girl. Things went well and I'm pretty sure they are going to be adopting her in two weeks when my friend gets back from visiting her BF in Mississippi.

Any name suggestions? They are calling her Sherrie... and that's changing immediately. I suggested Penny Lane, which was pretty much decided until yesterday. My friend says it doesn't really suit her, and she is thinking about calling her Scout. My friend is an literature/theater buff and has her teaching degree in drama and film... so Scout obviously comes from To Kill a Mockingbird. Anyway the pup is a sassy little thing, of course. Typical pittie. I can't WAIT to meet her!!

Adorable! And I love the name Scout - one of my fave books.

They're not adopting the dog FOR their current dog, right? And she's a brave woman to adopt a pup when her boyfriend is going to be gone for a year!

Not for him as much as themselves, haha. They were talking with a frenchie rescue but the adoption fee was $950 so they vetoed that... Since she is a teacher she has all summer off, and it will give her something to do while her bf is gone. and the good thing is her bf's family has always had pit bulls, AND comes to me for any dog advice so at least they will be steered in the right direction haha.

If Magnus's level of privileged-ness is any indicator of what's to come, she will DEFINITELY be spoiled rotten!
