I finally got off of my lazy bum and took Trey out for some training. Today he learned "heel". This was the first time he had EVER done this, and he caught on right away. He was soooooooo good. We walked all the way down my road, through the back fields and then back to my house. The whole time I was doing figure eights and alternating speeds.

I couldnt find the prong collar so I decided to see how he did with the choke chain. When Maggie was in obedience, it is what we used, so I am familiar with how to use it properly.

I was amazed at how quickly he caught on. He hasnt learned to sit when I stop on his own yet, but he is getting there. When I stop, he just stops and looks at me. I tap his butt and he sits right down.

Trey is a hyper hyper dog and I thought he would be awful at this. Once I got him under control and got his attention, he was happy to be learning something. We even walked past a man walking a HUGE rottie right on my road, and he barely broke the heel. Oooh! and we saw several small animals that he barely reacted to. And cars!!

I'm so proud! I love this dog.

That's great! Sounds like Trey is a smart boy and you'll have lots of fun with him. Smart dogs are such fun and such a challenge too!

What a smart boy! You must be so so proud. I know I would be.
