Big B

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Awww, Jeanine. I am sorry you have to go through all of this. While it is very difficult, I think it is wonderful of you to help with Norma Jean's arrangements.

Grandma "No More" (what I used to call her when I was little because I couldn't say Norma!) was there when I came into the world so it only seems fitting that I was there when she left it.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Grandma 'No More' sounds like an awesome lady.

Well crap balls. Looks like Big B will be making another trip to the vet today.

Who do I need to pay off to get a break around here?

Come on Buford, give momma a break :nono:

Was this from being active or licking/chewing?

Might I add. . . They somehow seem to know when their vet needs to make payroll. :|

No. He's been doped up on Benedryl and Tramadol and has been riding around with me the past week so I can keep an eye on him. The vet was afraid this was going to happen because of the location. Any incision on a hock like that is difficult at best to keep closed up because of the natural flexing motion of the leg. I can just tell Big B not to lick and he won't.

And I'd like to give my vet kudos for being *very* fair and reasonable about Buford's procedure and surgery.

:( You need a break!

I think Jenifer/Marinepits had trouble with this with Indy's carpus cancer, as well. Not really any loose skin that low on the leg.

We're at the vet right now and they just took Big B back to try to staple it back up. The good news is that it doesn't look like there's any infection.

They were able to staple it back together so he's got a LOT of staples in right now. We'll watch it closely and do some daily bandage changes and hope for the best. No infection so that's good!

If he keeps up the shenanigans then we'll have to splint his leg. Here's to hoping we won't have to go there!

((Hugs)) for you and a treat for Big B. He didn't mean to make you go back to the vet.
