Good thoughts please?

My mom's neighbor, Johnny, is this fabulous old man. Funny, dirty-minded, nice as could be, would give you the shirt off his back. Adores my mom and step-dad, me & Inara. Well, he has been fighting cancer for a long time now and they just recently stopped treatments because they said there was just no more to be done. Apparently today he took a drastic turn for the worse - incoherent, doesn't know anybody, seeing things, etc. They are taking him to the hospital. I don't know if the cancer hit his brain or if he had a stroke, but I worry that this is the end for him. I'd appreciate any thoughts/prayers you can send his and his family's way. If this is the end, I just want him to be able to go quickly and peacefully.

My heart goes out to the family (and friends). This disease is ruthless.

Good thoughts for him. That is the day I fear for my mother. The day they stop treatments. I feel for all of his family and friends right now. I can't even imagine . . .

Just talked to my mom. Johnny is in liver and kidney failure. They've stopped giving him his insulin. He at least is unconscious. They expect he may last a day or two. Hospice is coming to talk to his wife today. *sigh*

:( I'm so sorry, for all of his friends and family. Such a rough situation to be in. But at least he is unconscious . . . :(

Johnny died in his sleep at 4am this morning. His wife was with him, holding his hand and talking to him. I'll miss him, a lot.
