Hogwarts Bunch Blanket

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Postby Dukes_mom » April 25th, 2011, 11:39 am

Yes I started my next blanket. Different movie series, and a lot more work. There are 9 original panels, but of course I found others that I HAVE to add. So I will end up with at least 12- I don't know there is a possible amount of 39...but I won't go that far. The blankes are going to only be 4 panels each. The original lady who did them had her blanket made up of all 9 panels. It was big enough to cover a queen size bed. That is just to big, I want mine to be washable.

I started with Harry, of course. He took more time then I wanted. I was a little lazy on him, didn't do as many rows a day as I really should have. I wish I had a measureing tape by me, so I could tell you how big he is. He isn't as big as Edward.

Here is Harry finished

I've started on Hermione. She is only at 2%, so nothing to show yet. Her hair in the first 50% is going to kill me. There are soooo many single color changes. I've been warned that I will want to pull my hair out lol

I'm going to try and get 4 done before DHpart 2 and take them to show off  because I'm evil like that :neener:

I'll post a picture of Hermiones progress later tonight.

Just FYI - I wash my king size blankets in my washing machine. Queen size will probably not be a problem.

Love the blanket!

2nd this. A single layer queen size blanket will totally be washable!

So cool, you should open an Etsy shop!

They are better cleaned if hand washed, though I will use my washing machine on delicate. I just don't want to do a huge blanket on delicate. Plus to dry a huge blanket, that isn't fun.

Well I wouldn't sell these Potter panels, copyright laws are not fun to get into.

I have thought about selling some of my hats I made up, but I just don't know if the work that goes into the item is really worth the little money I'll make.

I've been working on Hermione. Doing 5% a day because her hair is really a killer. Plus it takes 30mins per row, give or take a couple minutes.

Here is Hermione at 15%

Wow! That is wicked cool!

I have NO talent what so ever with knitting or crocheting. Fiddly string and I do not get along. I make wonder knotted messes.
