Kind of ticked off...

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Postby Emi » April 18th, 2011, 10:19 am

Our friend Scott, is getting married this weekend. In a town that is like 3 hrs from here, up toward Austin, I told him at the beginning when we found out that we'd not be able to go. So he puts a guilt trip on Earl, and we get roped into going.

Well like 3wks ago, Scott invites Earl and I to go out to dinner with him and his future wife. We get there, and they've already eaten, so we order our appetizers and dinner, we talk a bit they order some desert. And we get our appertizer around the same time they get their desert. They eat their desert and then take off before we've even had our dinner. I think that is extremely frecking rude.

Then yesterday, Earl and I go out to eat lunch, we go to sit down at our table walking by tables of people, not paying attention to people. And I catch some people leaving their table like oh 10-15 minutes after we get there, low and behold it's Scott and his future wife and another couple, we walked right in front of them, but they didn't even salute us. Nice SNUB there...

So, if i'm gonna spend close to $700 to go to this wedding and that's not inculding a wedding gift, I feel like I really don't want to go. In fact I didn't want to go from the beginning, I have a horrible feeling about going.

I'd be pissy about it too. That's several instances of completely rude behavior. You know, I think I hear you and Earl coughing - are you both coming down with something?

LMAO I couldn't have said it better!!!

Emi, I think they invited you "to dinner" to make sure you came to their wedding...with a wedding gift in hand. :mad2: And when they "accidentally didn't see you" the next time, I am thinking they had that OTHER couple out for the same reason.

My advice? SCREW THEM. I would not go. I would not feel guilty. I would send a LOVELY congratulations card...without a gift check inside.

I think I do to, if Earl wants to go, good for him. I'm not or if i do, go to the town with the Motel, and fake sickness on Sunday, the day of the wedding...

:| OH i also forgot to say, it's a 5pm wedding on a Sunday, WTH are they thinking of, some people can't get Monday off... :|

As far as Miss Dottie goes, take her with you. Most (if not all) LaQuinta motels allow pets as do many others. We used to take Trouble to New Orleans with us frequently. We stayed at Loews where they pamper the humans and the pets! She loved being there as much as we did. She howled a little the first time I left her, but when she discovered I wasn't coming back to get her she stopped. (I stood down the hall and listened) :) She mostly just slept, just as she would have done at home.

For the wedding - I'd avoid going myself. Scott isn't really acting much like a 'friend'.

Sounds like you caught a nasty gastro the night before. Oops, won't be able to go... but still take the scheduled time off, and relax at home.

:D Problem solved .. Earl is going by himself. Dottie, Percy and I are staying home :D

Earl wasn't able to get part of Monday off, so he's driving up today, spending the night, going to the wedding on Sunday, and coming back Sunday night, I wouldn't be able to sit threw the wedding, wedding reception, and a 3 hour car ride home.
