Yep, still waiting to hear from the surgeon. I'll let everyone know as soon as I have an update.

So Dash is doing really, really well! He's got a little more discharge today but it's not bad at all. I think last night was the first really good night's sleep he's ever gotten. I'm assuming he suffered from sleep apnea of some sort. He's eating better than before the surgery and was even bouncing around at work a bit today!

So glad to hear that he is doing so well. What a strong, determined little dog he is. Nothing can keep Dash down. :)

So we got Dash's pathology results back. No cancer, but he did have a really rare benign tumor called a chondroma. He probably had it at birth and it grew as he did and it grew all the way through the one side and most of the way through the other side. There's no way to get clear margins without removing the roof of his mouth, etc. And because they're never really seen this before we're not sure what will happen from here. Best case scenario it doesn't grow back. If it *does* grow back it could grow back slowly or quickly we just don't know. He had a re-check with the surgeon today and he said he's healing up just as he'd hoped he would.

Has the place that Ali works at ever heard of it?

Apparently the tumor itself (chondroma) isn't rare but it is rare to see a benign version of it.
