PLEASE send me good thoughts

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Postby pitbullmamaliz » March 15th, 2011, 1:35 pm

My agency is laying PO's off, over a hundred across the state. I don't know yet if I have enough seniority to survive the cut. I'll find out more details this afternoon, but I'd really appreciate any good thoughts you could send me. I'm kind of freaking out.

Unless a miracle occurs, I'm getting laid off. I don't know what I'm going to do.

Miracles happen, Chickie. :) Maybe some people will retire and you will move up the list on seniority.

Could you apply at a different agency? Could you apply for a different law type job, making working in the office or something until another job opening opens up? With your seniority could you transfer to something else?

Oh no, Liz.... I'm so sorry!

And Joyce's silver lining, haven't you been talking about wanting to move to Rochester? Maybe opportunity?

Thanks all. I'm pretty depressed right now, tough for me to see a silver lining to this. I just bought a house and a new car in August, so I'm not exactly debt-free.

Yeah, moving is a possibility if I sell the house. I really like the house and I think my first choice would actually be to stay in Cleveland. I have really good things going on right now dog-wise and I'd hate to leave that all hanging. But I need to find a job, anywhere.

So I'm spending time this evening with a snuggly puppy and a bottle of Pinot Noir. Perhaps tomorrow will be brighter. Thank you all again for the thoughts.

Think good intentions. Adapt and overcome! You can do this Liz. You are a very smart woman and this like Joyce said, this might be the opportunity for bigger and better things.

Good thoughts from me too, but I really like what Missy said. It may be the opportunity of a lifetime. You just never know what is behind door #2.
