New Vermin in the House

Well, they're not really vermin in my eyes, but to some they are! Meet Fate (DCR Too Much Heaven) and Serenity (DCR Melody Fair) from Deer Creek Rattery. It's been quite a while since I've had rats since my beloved Rosie passed away, but I finally was up for it and brought these two lovelies home.

I rat-sat for a friend on vacation once. Ethyl and Fred were VERY smart. I didn't expect that. Their pee stunk to high heaven. 8)

Those two are very cute. How long do they live? I always had hamsters and they only live 3 years. I hated that part.

So cute! I miss having pet rats, but I just can't have them with my current dogs. They have beautiful markings. With those white faces, what are their colors called?

Yes. It's the ratty version of a purr. It's even better when they sort of curl up, and boggle their little eyes out at the same time - that means they're reeeeally happy.
