Log In Weirdness

Have a question/comment/concern about the board in general? Post it here

Postby furever_pit » February 11th, 2011, 1:43 pm

Every time I log in here from my new job, it acts all weird.
I put my username and password in the first time and I get a response, "you have exceeded the max number of login attempts". I then enter my log in info again and have to answer a security question that y'all have up. The site then lets me in.

I'm entering the same username and password each time so I'm not sure what's up. Is there something I need to do to get the site to recognize this computer or something?

I got it too.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.

This is happening worldwide. It's caused by spammers/hackers trying to brute force users passwords, the board is set to require the CAPTCHA to be answered after more than the set number of attempts.
Use the 'keep me logged in' check box next time you log in and use strong passwords.

My password is so seriously strong now that my hubs can't remember it to save his life. Haha!

Ah, I was all worried about this too.

Except that as a french person, the "you do the hokey pokey and then _____" question is totally foreign to me. I had attempt a second time to change the question.

I won't set my work computer to keep me logged in. I'm trying to keep my dog obsession somewhat quiet at the moment. Plus, other people do get on my computer.

I'll just keep answering the question or wait until I get home.

Thanks for the info.

I'm at my mom's house today and just logged on here from their computer. I put my (correct) login info in once and it told me that I'd had too many incorrect login attempts and I had to complete the sentence. Once I did so it let me right in, but it was weird.

I'm not staying logged in even though the box is checked. Annoying!
