Pictures around the farm...

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Thought I'd share some farm pictures :)

One of 3 horses... This is handsome my pride and joy.. We purchased him off craigslist last year. He is an ex-race horse. He and I seemed to have really "clicked" and work very well together. We also have two Tennesse Walking Horses.

One of 3 goats, Bert. He is the trouble maker of the gang. The other two goats are fainting goats--they are very neat.

We also have a few peacocks...

Of course theres many more critters..but this is a start :)

Your horsey is gorgeous. :) What exactly do peacocks do all day? Is it sort of like owning a rabbit but with pretty feathers?

They are pretty much just there to look at. Some people do have very tame ones that they can touch and interact with. we purchased ours as adults, so unless you have food they keep their distance. The rare colors do sell for a pretty penny (Several hundred-thousand dollars). Some people will sell the tail feathers for crafts and such..

whoops that should have been several hundred TO thousand dollars.. Most of the fance colors are in the hundredish dollar range. I know there were some new colors out that are priced $1000+.... Sadly ours are not the very fancy/expensive type lol

I love your crew!

What are fainting goats? Please tell me they actually faint and keel over. That would totally make my day. Especially if you have video of it.

They do fall over at times, other times they just get very stiff. It is pretty funny. They won't eat the grass in their pen (though the grass outside the pen is very tasty...) so we need to weed wack and mow the grass in there...the lawnmower starts up and they are on the ground... If you are feeding and move the feed bucket too fast, they are stiff as can be and about to fall over... My fiance has a friend who is pretty tall and the first time he saw the girls he walked up to the pen and they dropped... Guess they got used to us short people!

I don't have a video but here's a you tube one:

Fainting goats are awesome!!! I want a couple out here... Jenny sadly does not.

really I just want to laugh at them when they fall over. That may be why she wont let me get them.

Of course there are loaded guns in the house. I have a loaded fire extinguisher too I hope I never have to use.
