Last year I posted that Tiva's new lumps weren't mast cell tumor again (here's the thread, with picture: http://pitbulltalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=32726
Alas, this time, the news isn't so good. Tiva now has another MCT, in her front leg, just above the elbow joint. 3 years ago, she had a high-grade tumor and the initial surgery didn't get clean margins. Luckily, it was in her tail, so amputation worked fine.
This time the options will be more difficult, especially given her age (15+). Fortunately, we do have a good vet school and oncology department in Madison WI. Her big appointment there is a week from today. It's a long time to wait--I wish they had an opening earlier.
Wish her luck. She's doing great, otherwise--running around like a young dog, minimal arthritis, lots of energy.
