American Super Dog is recruiting talented Pit Bulls for America's Got Talent and a TV series in the works. We are looking for general videos of Pit Bulls and especially videos of Pit Bulls with talent. If you have a Pit Bull video we encourage you to submit at http://www.AmericanSuperDog.com. Prizes will be awarded. Please help spread the word as well. This is a huge opportunity to bring wide spread positive exposure to the American Pit Bull Terrier breed.

We are additionally looking for those who train dogs professionally. American Super Dog will be placing special focus on trainers as part of the TV series and will be using trainers from this initial pool of participants. After submitting a training video please use the Contact us link to let us know you are a trainer and provide us the direct link to your video and we will provide details on how you can have your free banner placed.

Hello and welcome! This section is for introductions, after you post one, you'll have access to post in the rest of the forum - which is where this belongs :)

Thanks!

Thanks, I will re-post. The forum appears to be active with people who are active with their Pits. Hopefully we can get some vids and really help show the world the positives the APBT has to offer.

I tried the other sections and still can not post. I do not think it is me but would not rule the idea out entirely.

I think you're just spamming you site, I can see no affiliation with 'Americas Got Talent' nor mention of a TV series.
All I see is an unprofessional, unfinished, host installed, free script site which are a 'dime a dozen' :rolleyes2:

You need to write a real introduction before you will be given access to the rest of the forum. Check out this link for ideas on what to write.

Hi, my name is Lewis, I live in TN. I've been involved with Pit Bulls for 34 years. I have 2 dogs, one a Pit Bull Service Dog in training to be later provided to a disabled veteran and one Shih Tzu. I got my first Pit Bull because it was a gift from my father. I believe it was given to him free as it was in the most pitiful shape when acquired. I want to own a Pit Bull because I grew up in an extremely physically and emotionally abusive household and my Pit became the only one I could confide in at the time that would not judge me or go back to my family to reveal my outing the abuse thus resulting in more. She was my best friend until her death 16 years later. I am interested in Pit Bulls because I see their true loving nature and am able to relate to them given the parallel of their history of mis-treatment and judgment and my past. I support the breed because growing up it was my only base of support, was non-judgmental and I recognize how their loving spirit can have a healing effect on the spirit. There is not BSL in my area but I actively fight against it on a daily basis and regularly give money for legal expenses and freely assist with legal research to those who are affected by it. I am a supporter of our troops and feel great sadness for those injured protecting the freedoms most of us take for granted. I see great potential in the breed as a Service Dog and Therapy dog especially given my past and how they have been a direct part of my emotional healing process.

I found Pit Bull Talk from on the internet and based on what I have read feel it is one of the more positive forums for the breed.

A video of Camo the soon to be Service Dog can be found here eating snow here. http://americansuperdog.com/videos/7/camo-the-snow-eater

I have no other pets. I have 2, two legged children both of whom are now adults. My son is still trying to figure out what to do in life and my daughter is attending a local Christian university seeking to become a nurse. Both kids spent a considerable amount of time in a program called Civil Air Patrol, an affiliate of the Air Force that is responsible for search and rescue work when planes crash or go missing. CAP was the first planes allowed in the air on 9/11 commissioned to do aerial photography of NY by the government to help assess damage.

I put my pants on with different legs first at different times and have on occasion even tried to jump into both at the same time. Usually without success but still fun to try.

My shoe size is 11.

I prefer not to eat Pizza as I worked at Pizza joints during my childhood and early adult life to pay my way through college and put food on my young Family’s table.

Given my past I am very reserved and shy and thus prefer my privacy. Even writing this introduction is uncomfortable. I find my best relationships with people are one on one as this seems when they are the most real. I am non-judgmental as I try to see the good in everyone first. This can however be a challenge.

Ok, let me into the forum now please, as I would like to share with others my goals for the Pit Bull breed in bringing it back to the once revered nature it enjoyed in the past.

Please define spam. We are not selling anything. We are not seeking to steal away members.

We are not directly affiliated with America's Got Talent but have merely been asked to scout for Pit Bulls with talent within the Pit Bull community by one of their representatives.

The TV series is a product of our own that we have been working on the concept for, for some time and have just recently placed with the Writers Guild Of America based on encouragement from this same representative. Writing and production is a cut throat business. Having had ideas stolen before we have intentionally be vague on details other than the series will be based on talents, activities and resources available.

Our site is in fact a free script set up to merely allow people to submit their videos of Pit Bulls to make it easier for our contact with America's Got Talent to review and for us to test the waters to see how feasible a TV show really is. Of the forums we have visited Pit Bull Talk seemed to be one of the best when it came to owners who were truly active with the breed.

From our experience with other forums and actual shows less than 1% or 1% of Pit Bull owners are truly active in doing something activity related with their Pits. Go to any show sponsored by any registry and you will see this to be true. 1% or less of owners will come to a show and of those 99% only take part in the Conformation component, which we do not feel is really being active in the true sense of the word. The goal of the TV series will be to show true activities for the breed and to encourage greater participation. Conformation shows will never change the mind of the general public on the breed. If anything these may actually cause greater division among its owners due to the ever changing standards of registries vs. the fad driven nature of demand and breeding. Anyone who is avid to the breed knows these divisions exist and are growing. The fractured nature of the Pit Bull community is one of the very reasons the breed is not accepted well beyond the Pit Bull community itself. Until we as the Pit Bull community can show greater purpose for the breed it will continue to have its negative stigma.

Until we can show the feasibility of the show to the producer there is a zero dollar budget, hence we are working with the resources that are available in as cost effective means as possible. I disagree that the site is unprofessional. If you feel this the case pleas help quantify this with examples. I do concede it is new and could use some polish. This is something we are working on. Free does not necessarily however mean unprofessional or the forum here would also fall under that same category of being unprofessional being that it too is based on a free script (phpBB). The same is true for most of the other Pit related forums out there. We intentionally went with a minimal base for the site as we did not want to take away from other forums. We could have went with a forum add-on but thought doing so would have made it more like spam as this would pull members away from forums that already exist. We do not want to do this but instead want to encourage site visitors to come to forums and professional trainers that already exist. This is also why we are offering free banner placement to such forums, trainers and other resources. We are not selling ad space to breeders nor are we providing non-pet related ads for Viagra, video games, etc.

There are several reasons why we went with a self hosted video upload program vs. YouTube. Number one we wanted to help insure that the content being submitted was owned by those submitting. This is why we did not go with YouTube nor have we added the available function for people to embed their YouTube links. Number two we wanted to be able to take the videos submitted and edit them into a unified structure for presentation to the producer. Number three we wanted to create a single source for viewing for the representative of America's Got Talent as well as for us for the TV series to make the process of development easier. There are other reasons as well but I will stop there for brevity sake.

Take part if you wish, don't if you don't. Please however do not seek to continue to publicly defame us as our intentions are pure.

Hi Lewis! Welcome! I'm glad to see another Service Dog person on the board! :) And a pit bull service dog...what fun! I've told my BF (John-SvcDogSawyer on the board) that his next SD will be a pit bull...because that will give him one more thing to argue about when he's denied access...lol

UKKK! Access denial. It's amazing how much resistance the breed gets even from those into Service Dog training even with the many examples of success. Just one more hurdle for the breed. Gaining greater acceptance through Service Work is a great step forward to having BSL overturned nationwide since the ADA protects them at the federal level. Would be great to hold a giant Pit Bull Service Dog rally on the courthouse steps in Denver, DC or Miami. Can you just imagine the uproar?

We think so too. Not everyone is a fan of the Merle trait but to each their own. Funny some think she is the most beautiful and others think she is the ugliest. Not many in between. Thanks for the positive feedback. Yours is a cutie too. We love all Pits.

We added a few more vids on our site where she is more clear if you wish to check them out.
