We would have told you about how well he would do with three usable legs but you wouldn't have believed it :P
Trouble was up and running after amputation.
Now relax, cook some dinner, have a big drink, pet our pony, and get some rest. ♥♥♥

GREAT!!

Glad he is doing well after surgery. He's probably glad to be home in his own bed.

Whoa! Things couldn't have gone better!

I'm so relieved, I just got home from work and ran to the computer to get some news!

I am sleeping in the dog den with him. Setting up now. The other three literally could not get any closer to me if they tried. I am on dog overload. :rolleyes2:

A stitch started to drip blood. I dabbed it with a tissue and it has stopped. He was softly growling/moaning so I gave him his nighttime pain meds. Now I need one.

Have a cocktail and relax with him. The pain med should kick in quickly. :-)

Last night was hard....he moans whenever he tries to find a comfortable position. And it freaks me out when he lays ON the leg. Or he lies on his stomach, and the leg is sort of up in the air at his side. Tramodol helped him sleep for a few hours. Icing helped the swelling, but he doesn't like it.

Thank you Missy, for being on texting-alert. I was losing it...when the blood dripped. And thank you to everyone who pm'd me offering advice or support.

This mornings "face". He is very grumpy. :(

See how his jowls are hanging low? His "Rotti face" is the one that shows discomfort.

Poor guy. I can't really tell, does he have a pain patch on?

If you think he's really uncomfortable you might talk to your vet about having one applied. Fenatnyl [the pain patch] is like 100 times stronger than morphine and lasts I think 3-4 days which could get you over the initial pain hump.

Also our dogs when they stay overnight have moments where they lay on that leg. It isn't good for the dog to only lay on one side, he knows what he's capable of so even though it looks weird/ouchie he knows what he's doing. :)

And some of that moaning and groaning could also be him still coming out of the anesthesia. I know that Wally did awful coming out from anesthesia and was rather vocal and miserable about it.

Good thoughts that tonight is easier on you two!!
