You could also go to Home Depot and buy a piece of 3/4 inch plywood. They often have scraps available so you won't have to purchase a full sheet. You can put it on the bumper of the car and stand on it with him and walk down. That's what I made Connor's ramp out of for our front steps.

Good idea because the dog ramp is WAY too narrow for a Clydsdale.

Tons of good toughts for Pony. You totally need to get him a sort of giant side-car/crate hybrid to attach next to the SUV.

He'll be fine. You'll be fine. Ask the vet for a little shot of valium for you when you bring him in. It'll be aaallright.

Seriously, if you intend to get a ramp, I'd get him to practice getting in/out with it before the surgery, so it's not all new on top of having a hard time balancing with the odd leg.

Yes, I am going to. I am also going to wrap his entire leg in Vet Wrap when we practice this weekend. When he has Vet Wrap on him, he "acts" like that part is broken, so it will help me to see how to manuever him.

My Vet wanted to choak me when I said I could get a wheelchair lift van or Home Depot truck with a ramp. 8)

Just ask for a little shot of valium in the thigh when you get there, that'll make everything go just fiiine.
