I wouldn't be doing anything drastic until the vet sees her...since it could be so many things. you don't want to make things worse by trying to be nice!

Nu-Stock is wonderful stuff. It is just a salve for wounded, irritated skin. Made of sulpher and pine oil. it will clear your sinuses ( and the neighborhood) but it wont hurt the pooches.

OKAY Guys........
*mods< should I just start new threads when I have questions about transitioning her and questions on nutrition?
or just keep Domino specific stuff here?* :| :)

FIRST: Found out her ears have ""taken a turn for the worse"", so VET appt. TOMORROW, at his vet in Lincoln. Can't wait til Wed. to see my vet. (Domino and my vet are 60 miles apart) .

I am taking some Dog food to his house so Nate can start SLOWLY mixing food.....WILL IT HURT to also start her on Fish Oil Caplets too?? :| I figured a good skin supplement (that I already have on hand) is okay. It's not like it's meds....

SECOND: Should I bring/exchange some towels that have each dogs scent on them so the dogs can get used to each other's smells???

Nate is okay with us transitioning over the next week and half or so.............but he only has til the 7th and then Domino has to come here.

ADVICE or Comments::: (besides "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING" :nono: ))
are MOST Welcome and MOST Appreciated............

(gulp)

Fish oil capsules won't hurt. :)

No towels/blankets from her house to yours until you know what's wrong w/her... IF she's contagious you could spread it to your house, even from a towel. I wouldn't take a chance.

Take a deep breath. It WILL be okay. :hug3:

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I have no ideas, but this is so exciting!!!! I just know in a few weeks everything will work out and things will be fine. Remember when I got Lenny? I tried to rush everything being "perfect". Then, all of a sudden, when I wasn't looking...everything WAS perfect. The same will happen with Domino. :)

It'll all fall into place. I'm not one to plan ahead...and things just work out with time, patience and love. You have plenty of that...more than a person usually does. So you'll be fine. Don't stress, and don't rush anything. I think my laid-back attitude with dog-dog intros goes a long way towards the stress-free dogs I have at my house. (and btw, I have 20 dogs here this weekend...including a three bitches that want to rip each other a new one)

I have to take her back to LIncoln in a little bit..
I KNOW I KNOW.
I wasn't SUPPOSED TO BRING HER HOME.

But it was so cold when I went by the house to see her. Cold and Filthy and Full of Screaming Little Children pulling each other's hair.
I asked if I could take her for a walk, and they brought out this huge-Assed Prong Collar.. ..
which she in no way needs. No Pulling at all...Just Tail Wagging.

Once I I got her out of that horrible, stinking house I Just Put her in the car to bring her home so everybody could meet her.

I knew once they saw how reddened, swollen, hot and irritated her skin is; and once they met her, they couldn't HATE me for bringing another doggie home.. :sad2:

LOOK....She's Tucked in Her Crate and Wearing Dar's Coat Made by Diana!"

Gerry went out to the Garage and found a crate I had forgotten we had!!

So.
Enough Crates!!

I've got blankets over all the dogs, which is keeping them pretty calm.
Cept Dar. 8) He keeps yodel-whining like he's gonna die. :sad2:

She doesn't seem to be food motivated at all. Maybe she's just too excited or something. We did coax her into the kennel/crate with a hunk of turkey. (not duck, damnit).

But wouldn't even sniff the kibble in my hand.

I have one tiny can of Natural Balance in there, so I'm mixing it with mashed potatoes and some dry kibble, just to get a little something in her stomach before I take her back.

The girl at the house told me Nate feeds her Beneful, but she "hates it' and will hardly eat it.
According to the girl, Domino (Pigeon) will gobble cat food and Purina Dog Chow. (ahem).

So her 'diet' is all over the place.
According to Nate she's already on 2 Benadryl tablets a day-----

VET ASAP........

Two tablets of Benedryl a day is a low, low dose for an allergy dog. Trouble's normal dosage when allergies are active is up to 3 capsules every 8 hours. That said, I wouldn't add anything until you get a full vet exam and know for sure what you are dealing with.

She is precious. You are an angel for helping her out.

Yup, agreed...Rip gets runny eyes during allergy season, he weighs 40# and he gets 2-4 benadryl a day during the bad seasons (spring/fall). So yeah...that's a low dose.

But also agreed...don't add anything until you see a vet.
