Name: Brandy
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
Age: 2-3 years old
Weight/Size: petite as a pit, weights about 40 lbs
Spayed: Yes
Shots: Yes
Cats: Definitely No! She has a very high prey drive as well.
Dogs: she doesn't like other dogs, especially female pits. She
doesn't get frantic with other dogs when she is in an outside pen.

She has been at the Bergen County Animal Shelter for a year (yes!
ONE YEAR!) by now. She came as a stray. She was pretty "wild" in the
beginning. However, she calmed down so much and became pretty
content after she went through a 6-week obedience dog training with
one of our volunteers. Though she is strong, she doesn't pull when
we walk her. She doesn't run or jump vigorously in the outside pen
even when we free her in there. She prefers to sit on your side or
puts her paws on your lap and enjoys being petted or cuddled. She is
extremely sweet and affectionate. She just loves to be with humans
24/7. She gets so excited when she sees anyone passing through her
kennel and greets every single person. That's why she became
everyone's favorite! She has so many guardian angels (staff and
volunteers) now. But, Brandy hasn't had any luck on finding a
suitable home.

The ideal home for Brandy should be:

- Home without any other animals
- Home without any small children (I believe she will be okay with
girls 10 + yrs) But ideally adult only home (teenagers should be
fine)
- A house with a fenced-in back yard would be perfect.... but
apartment can be fine as long as the family can provide good amount
of exercise... she doesn't require big deal of exercise, either....
she would prefer sitting next to you while you watch TV...
- Dog experienced owners
- Family who don't really care about taking their dog to Dog Park.

She is very special to many of us.... and she desperately needs a
home NOW. And, I know she deserves it and she will be a very loyal
companion for the right people/person. If anyone is interested in
meeting her, I can arrange the meeting at the shelter... either with
me or with some other volunteers who know her very well (there are
many!).

If you have any questions/concerns, please email me at
mahito@yahoo.com I can also send you some photos, too!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
