hi im shawna. i recently lost my little pitty girl Daisy May.
i am currently setting about adopting another pit baby, and wanted to share about daisys experence. i loveed my little girl, very loving and loyal, not a mean bone in her body, ever. she was so funny and she loved to wear her hoodies and dresses. she had the cutest tail/ butt wiggle. made me laught all the time. she loved swimmin and playin in the snow. and she loved her brother my pug/boston terrier/ itallian grayhound mix, and the cat, she loved the cat. i had daisy cremated so that she will always be with me, i also created a photo memory book in which i printed pictures from thruout her life so that i can look back and think of the lucky dog i spent 7,000 on to save who i still lost.

so heres how the last few months went for her: she had just turned 2 and started being sick, lathergic, and loosing a ton of weight really fast, ect. she didnt play with her toys or chew on the couch, she just slept all the time. then i came home one day and she had strait bloody diareah all over my house ( ruined rugs, my bedding and mattress, ect) so i rushed her to the vet and went to her regular vet multipul times and they couldnt diagnose her after doing blood pannels, xrays, ua, stool samples, ect.. then after about a month i was refered to a internal specialist who immediatly hospitalized her and did a ton of tests including wider blood tests, a colonoskipy, a scope, took biopsys, ect. she was then diagnosd with IBD, with food alergys and stuff. was put on predisone and antibiotics and was doing just fine eating a limited ingredient diet of fish and sweet potato by natural balence. then alittle over a month or 2 went by, we had reg visits to her specialist and we tryed some diffent meds including b12 shots and stuff to help get her more comfy including some different anti nasueua meds when she first started to get sick again. and this time not eating, at all. she had had a full blood pannel a month before but when i checked her into the hospital and we pulled some blood it was determained she had gotten lynphoma, like really full blown lynphoma, the sad part is after finding this out on a sunday night at 9 pm my girls body was shutting down by 9 am monday, i had to have her put to sleep at noon that day. hardest day of my life but i didnt want her to suffer. the vet said she wouldnt even have a week even if we pumped her full of meds

so RIP Daisy May- may u rest in piece and be there waiting for me wagging ur tail doing ur cute little butt wiggle.

i guess i just dont understand how a dog so young could be so sick so fast.

Welcome to the forum, Shawna. :wave2: You sound like a wonderful, loving, dog owner, and I am so sorry for the loss of Daisy Mae. If you have any photos of her, we would love to see them.

This thread might help you: viewtopic.php?f=44&t=31600 Members post about the loss of their pets and believe me, we all get a little teary-eyed for the posters. It is a nice way to get some emotional support, just writing your thoughts out and having other dog lovers respond.

First off Welcome....

Second, a HUGE hug for your broken heart, and sad soul.

You really have landed in a place full of understanding, along with folks who have, and are, wearing your shoes. You've landed yourself in a good place here on PBT.

Beauti-Bull Daisey. Thank-You for sharing her pictures with us.

Why don't you post those in our Gallery section? More people will see them there, and we try to keep this area limited to introductions. :)
