Yes Joyce, when I am making millions of dollars I will owe it all to you and your dad's set of stamps!!

But really, I love knowing that there truly are good people in the world. This forum ABSOLUTELY is proof of that!

Degan wants to know who these strange New York dogs he smells are.

He and Harlow would NOT leave the wrapping alone!

I managed to stay in the studio til 1am tonight to get this Christmas ornament finished for my mom's friend. I am a huge perfectionist, so I won't even lie, it is HARD for me to post this picture. I can see a lot of things I wish I could fix. BUT I really am happy with it.

Without further adieu...

Wow! That's awesome! How much would you charge for something like that?

Thanks for the compliments guys! I was really pleased with it.

I have been thinking about this since you asked, and still haven't come up with a solid answer yet. That ornament is pretty large. I just used scrap copper pieces so it wasn't all that expensive to make, but the issue I'm having is deciding what my time is worth. This is a problem I have with ALL of my artwork.

That piece was much more complicated than most, because each tier of the tree was individually cut, sawed, filed, and sanded--so it was really time consuming. Of course now that I have made one, I know how to go about making more which would make it go more quickly.

I think $30 seems like an okay price for that specific piece...It's about six inches tall.

( Please tell me if that screams rip off to anyone! )

I am going to work on some dog-bone shaped ornaments this week. Those would certainly be less expensive.

Honestly, for a hand-made ornament out of those materials I'd say that's reasonable. :)

That ornament is GORGEOUS!
I think you could even charge upwards of $40 for something that extensive and elaborate. :D

If you make dog tags, though, my suggestion to you is to use tighter split rings.
Obviously, that ornament is not going on a dog, so those split rings are fine.

I LOVE that ornament!!!! It's beautiful. AND unique. :D
