A miracle is needed...

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Postby mnp13 » November 17th, 2010, 7:15 pm

My friends Marty and Tina just found out that their six year old son, Luke, needs a heart transplant. Tina had one at 18, but it was from the same thing my dad had which can be caused by a virus. Evidently not in her case and their son has it.

Marty is a national class athlete, Tina trains horses, they are a very active family... this news is unimaginable.

Prayers, good thoughts, etc of course.

I finally spoke to them today, I had initially heard about it through an ex-co-worker. They are doing their best to deal with the news, but it's just incomprehensible. My dad has a different type of viral cardio myopathy, but his has remained stable for 21 years. That is very rare, but it does happen. They actually do reverse, but in a teeny tiny fraction of cases, so that happens too. All we can do is pray.
