I have been learning how to do doggie blood collection and today I went out on my own to collect blood from two boxers.
Thankfully the owner is a vet tech and was able to hold the dogs and guide me along.
But, bottom line-- I did it! One old gal from her front leg and the boy from each back leg. Woot!
Now for more practice. Too bad people don't let me come over and practice blood collection on their dogs on a daily basis. ;)

Allie, I would totally let you come over and practice on Inara!

That is quite a feat! Congratulations. I would faint when I opened the package the needle is in. :)

Thank you all. I was super proud of myself.
Now for more practice-- my goal for this upcoming year is to become more proficient. Then I will be able to go to more field trials and fun stuff. :D

That's AWESOME!

I'll shamelessly admit I use my dogs for practice too... sometimes with a holder, sometimes without. That was my "good dog" test for Seth, he let me poke him by myself and it was then I knew he was a keeper :neener:
