Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Back in May, right when I lost my job, my father was in the hospital with a septic blood infection. They told him at that time that he was very fortunate because most people who ended up with what he had wait too long and by the time they make it to the hospital, they are there to die. (And my lovely ex-employer docked me a day's severence pay because I went to see my dad in the hospital because he was critically ill)

We're at my parent's now and this morning my dad said that he had to go to the city, when I asked why, he didn't want to say. Well, all of you know me by now...

He is having the same symptoms as in May, so he's in the er right now and they are doing tests. They never really figured out why it happened the first time, and now he's sick again. I'm just not ready to lose my dad.

Good thoughts for Dad and a hug for you. :hug3:

A friend of mine has a Mom who went through a few bouts of sepsis. She often goes into the hospital, but continues to fight it. So will your Dad!

Sending lots of good thoughts - I don't think anyone is ever truly "ready" to lose a parent. I hope they find out what the problem is so this doesn't happen again!

They did some tests and sent him home... But they did that last time too. And then the hospital called him on sunday and asked him to come back because they screwed up - they should have never let him go home in the first place. He was in for four days that time. I lost two grandparents (one on each side) who were about the same age as my dad in the early 80's, both because of medical screw ups. Let's just say I have little faith in the system in this regard.

Tons and tons of :goodthoughts: headed your way.

Did they have a particular name for the septic blood infection? Maybe I can get you more (hopefully good) information?

Sorry... My dad is on a cocktail and a half of pills right now. He's not really feeling any better, but he has happy pills to make him not care that he's not feeling any better.
