I am heading out to Gresham Nebraska tomorrow to Meet and Take some pictures of "Blink", a one year old, intact female pit bull that needs a new home.
Owner is having another child and just cannot handle Blink, the other 3 dogs and cats.
From what I've been told, Blink isn't good with cats, but it sounds like a 'energy' problem rather than an aggression problem; Blink doesn't get much exercise because she is tied out in the yard 'most of the time' because she 'can climb out of her kennel. (I guess it needs a 'top') .
The owner said "I don't think she wants to hurt them, she just wants to play and gets too rough'.
Is 'great' with other dogs and kids...........
The father and mother are owned by another member of the family; (after having 16 pups
) and is now dog aggressive. This owner also says she is afraid of the father and he will probably have to be 'put down'.
SIGH.
I guess this woman, (present owner) insisted that the original owner (her sister?) "has stairs and the poor dog kept falling down them".
This owner says she wants a really good home for Blink, and wants to meet any new owner. I explained how interstate foster/adoption works.
At least she cares enough to hold on to Blink for a while longer and really really wants a good life for the dog.
So.
*deep sigh*.
One of the first things is to get Blink to the vet...........spayed and see if she's up to date on shots.
I'll post pics once I get back home.
