The xrays showed many masses in the thoracic cavity-- metastatic tumors. We are unsure of the primary, but it doesn't seem to be her leg.
The dr gave her prednisone and also some cough meds. She will continue gabapentin and tramadol but no more metacam.

I am so sorry. I know this is devastating news, but don't forget it does not automatically place an expiration date on their butt. This is where you begin to live one day at a time and enjoy the memories you make each day. Many hugs to you and gentle nuzzles for Jasmine.

Sorry to hear this. But like Shanna said, there isn't an expiration on her rear, she only knows today so be as happy as you can and enjoy her.

Thank you for the kind words.

Nothing has changed now that we know-- just that fact that now we know. She's still the same as she was before we found out.
I hope the prednisone helps and we see some improvement. As it is now, she's not distressed, though. Amazing, given what we saw on the xrays.

I'm so sorry. At least, now you know and you can do things different for her. Hopefully the pred will improve her state as well as her appetite, and she'll feel a bit better.

Lame news. It sounds like you have a good plan in order, hopefully the prednisone does what it's supposed to and gives her some relief.

aw I'm so sorry. Like has been already mentioned, try to live each day with her as it comes.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.

Well, so far Jazzy seems to have more of an appetite.
Yesterday she ate cheese crackers, some bites of a pork chop, six chicken nuggets and a slice of pizza.
Today she's eaten almost a whole can of beef stew and some bread. Phil is going to look for canned Mighty Dog or Alpo at the pharmacy to see if the doggie crack-effect will work for her.

Yay for eating! She must be enjoying all that junk food :D

The prednisone will help make her hungry too.

What a good looking girl! I don't know if it's in your area - but kind of perfect timing, you can get a 50pc chicken mcnugget from Mcdonald's for $9.99! You could keep her in chicken nuggets for forever :p I hope the doggie-crack works out. They sure seem to like their junk food!

I really like her smile :)

:hug3: Prednisone did WONDERS for my Carlos Garcia who was diagnosed with lymphoma. Ironically, it wasn't my Vet that suggested it (and this isn't the Vet I LOVE, it was a holistic one I was using at the time.) Anyway, my friend who runs NY Bulldog rescue had a dog who also had cancer and she told me about it's use. It really helped him for a long time. :)
